Corporate Compliance Officer

About This Opportunity: As the Corporate Compliance Officer, you will lead the coordination and development of compliance policies and manage all annual and due diligence audits for Valenz. You’ll ensure adherence to Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC), the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), and all applicable federal, state and contractual requirements.
Things You’ll Do Here:
Accreditation & Certification
- Coordinate URAC and NCQA reaccreditation processes by ensuring all activities, documents, and evidence are prepared, maintained, and trained as required.
- Assist internal stakeholders in obtaining and maintaining HITRUST certification.
- Develop and maintain corporate compliance policies, processes, and procedures.
- Confer with and advise other internal Valenz entities to create and maintain compliant operational processes and procedures.
- Implement and maintain compliance monitoring functions based on risk assessments and prioritization, with a focus on annual regulatory risk assessments.
- Participate in quarterly compliance risk reviews and assist in the development of quarterly work and audit plans.
- Conduct compliance audits (e.g., release of information, business associate/vendor agreements, sanction screenings, remote worker privacy).
- Analyze audit findings, recommend corrective actions, and perform follow-up reviews to ensure timely resolution of compliance issues.
- Manage, track, and triage reported compliance matters, including assisting with handling ethics hotline, compliance mailboxes, or other items.
- Assist with conducting and managing compliance-related incidents, partnering with stakeholders to identify, document, and mitigate compliance risks.
- Escalate reportable data breaches to the Chief Compliance Officer and assist as needed.
- Report quarterly to the Chief Compliance Committee on the status of the Compliance Program.
- Assist with vendor background screening and pre-pay approval oversight and monitoring.
- Execute preliminary contract review and approval that includes MSA, SOW, NDA, BAA, SBAA and ad hoc request for review.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Law, IT, etc.).
- 7+ years of experience in compliance, auditing, or a related field within the healthcare or insurance industries developing policies and procedures, performing internal compliance audits, and working with internal and external partners on compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in compliance and audit best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with federal and state privacy regulations and data protection laws.
- A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCEP, CHC, CISA) is preferred.
- Experience in the health plan/employer group self-insured space, building formal healthcare regulatory compliance programs, Medicare compliance rules.

- Work Environment: You’ll need a quiet workspace that is free from distractions.
- Technology: Reliable internet connection—if you can use streaming services, you’re good to go!
- Security: Adherence to company security protocols, including the use of VPNs, secure passwords, and company-approved devices/software.
- Location: You must be US based, in a location where you can work effectively and comply with company policies such as HIPAA.
