About This Opportunity:
As a Business Operations Analyst (aka Data Operations Analyst), you’ll be focused on supporting complex data initiatives, with an emphasis on data integrity, workflow optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. The position sits at the intersection of business and technical teams, helping translate requirements into structured data processes and driving successful implementation of data solutions.
Things You’ll Do Here:
- Collaborate with business partners to gather, interpret, and document business requirements, including data discovery, policies, procedures and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Client Delivery, Data Integration, Engineering and Analytics, to enhance existing data workflows and processes.
- Assist in supporting technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex data concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- Utilize SQL and related tools to support data-driven decision-making through reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems through data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
- Conduct file testing during implementations to validate data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis on complex data issues and ensure findings are documented and incorporated into process improvements.
- Troubleshoot application or process issues, document findings, and recommend solutions.
- Work within Databricks and related data platforms to support, document, and optimize data workflows and pipelines.
- Work within Azure DevOps to identify, track and maintain individual and team initiatives.
- Support automation and optimization of data-related tasks and reporting processes to improve efficiency.
- Investigate and troubleshoot data issues, performing root cause analysis with guidance as needed.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data operations, business systems analysis, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience working with SQL, Databricks and Azure-based data environments.
- Experience working with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with data validation, data quality, and ensuring data integrity across systems.
- Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business and technical requirements.
- Strong documentation skills, including creating clear and scalable data workflows, process documentation, and data definitions.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create insightful reports and dashboards.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas for data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity working with Databricks, Python and data ingestion mechanisms (APIs, SFTPs, JSON, Flat files).
- Experience supporting or working with Azure DevOps, including ticket tracking, workflow management, or CI/CD exposure.
- Ability to present to stakeholders and leadership teams with strong negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take complex or undefined processes and translate them into clear, structured workflows and documentation.
- Background in healthcare data, financial data, or operations data.
- Understanding of data privacy and healthcare data regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR), as well as familiarity with industry requirements such as the No Surprises Act, Transparency in Coverage Rule, and Machine-Readable Files (MRF).
